WOMEN'S TENNIS: SEMIFINAL FINISH AT STATE
The Hornets had six players competing in the CCCAA Championship Tournament in Ojai over the weekend.
Freshman standout Yu Seung Suh was honored at the annual ITA / CCCAA dinner receiving the "Rookie of the Year" award. Tabbed as the No. 1 seed, Suh made it all the way to the semifinals in singles where she fell to Shayee Sherif of Orange Coast College 6-3, 6-0. She finished in the top four out of 128 contestants.
Suh and teammate Alexus Lombera made it to the Round of 16 in doubles before losing to the eventual champs Inoue/Knickerbocker of Orange Coast College.
The team of Savanna Schreiner-Vanhoutte and Ashley Castro made it the second round before losing to No 2. Giese/Ito 6-0, 6-0.
Kim La and Janet Shiau fought hard but lost in the first round to Glendale College's Chacon/Ghazaryan 6-2, 6-2.
