SCRAPPY HORNETS FALL TO THE BOBCATS

SCRAPPY HORNETS FALL TO THE BOBCATS

Despite losing to Saddleback College at home 3-0 Friday night, the Hornets showed that they are a resilient team with some fight.

In a rebuilding season under new head coach Kevin Hitt, the FC women's volleyball program lost its third straight Orange Empire Conference match, however there is no quit in this team as they gave the Bobcats (6-3 overall, 2-0 OEC) a run for their money in the third and final set.

Overpowered in the first two sets by 25-12 and 25-12, the Hornets regrouped in the third taking a 15-14 lead on a bloop-shot by Jessica Timmins. FC maintained its lead deep into the set at 21-19 thanks to a kill by Makayla Schnakenberg. Saddleback took off on a four-point run grabbing a 23-21 edge before losing it 25-23.

Up Next: The Hornets (2-7 overall, 0-3 OEC) will hit the road this Wednesday, October 2nd when they play at Golden West College (3-7, 1-2) for another OEC match. Game time is at 6:00 pm.
